My family and I went out for dinner, except my sister of course who was out with some friends. My mother always did say that she treated the house like a hotel... all she would do is sleep there and eat there. ^_^ So we went out for a nice dinner. We ordered many delicious dishes which were all consumed in a couple of minutes. At the end of dinner I observed that my father's belly was a little larger than usual. Laughing, I whispered loudly to my mother,"Look! Daddy's pregnant!" My mother laughed and said,"Nine months." Turning to my father, I asked him,"Boy or girl?" "Both!" my mother piped in. "How can they be both?" I questioned. "They're twins Daphne..." She shook her head as if I was supposed to understand it. I laughed teasingly at my father and peeked a glance at him. His face was one of his funniest ones. It seemed like he didn't understand what was going on at first, but then as he slowly began to get ...

We were all in the car, my mother, my father and I. Both parents sitting in the front and me alone in the back. A silence settled in and I shifted uncomfortably. I was bored. There was nothing to do except watch the trees go by. My voice broke the silence. "Mom, can you turn on the radio?" "No."she replied icely. Well, if one parent says no, go to the other parent! "Dad, can you turn on the radio?" My father turned to look at my mother, and then back on the road saying nothing. I sweatdropped. Ye-e-e-s, in my family, my mother was the king of the Changs. Nothing would be done without her permission. I tried my mother again. "Please, can you turn on the radio, mom?" She turned around and said "Daphne, in five minutes we'll be home. Why don't you sing a song, and I guarantee that by the time you finish it, we'll be home already." Sighing, I turned away from her and looked out the window. Darkness was coming and already everyth...

I was in the kitchen, my mother washing dishes, and my father emailing a very important person on his laptop. I was sitting, on the chair, drinking orange juice. A very nice, family atmostphere settled in, and we all enjoyed the peace and quiet. Drinking my sweet orange juice, I allowed my eyes to roam about until something sleek and black caught my eye. Catching the movement, I immediately glance down onto the floor to see what it was. Appalled to see it moving, I came upon the realization that this black object was indeed alive, and a scream escaped from within me. It was actually quite funny to see my mother wince horribly at my high pitch and my father suddenly jerk up from his intense email. Both swerved their heads toward me with priceless faces each wondering what the the scream was all about. With a shaking hand, I pointed at the 2 cm. bug (which is actually a lot bigger than most bugs you see nowadays). I saw their faces change from concern to disinterest in less than half a s...

Today I played for a wedding reception. It wasn't really fun... kinda boring... I played over the many voices who were way above the 'inside volume'. A woman came to me while I was playing and cried,"I want to take you home, you sound so pretty!" O_O That scared me a little bit, and I gave her my uncomfortable "heh" look. After the reception we shoved the harp into the van and raced home.. I still had finals to study for...Right when I got home, I plopped myself in front of the computer. Technology was never really "my thing"... I never did know how to keep the viruses out of my computer, never really did know how to download things, and researching always took awhile. It was always nice how the computer never did the things I wanted it to. When I used to call my sister for help, she would undergo the exact procedures I had just done, but somehow, she would get the wanted results, while I would stand there with my mouth gaping. Then of course, ...

Today was a different day. It opened up as always with my first period, orchestra. With 1 harp and 3 harpists, I scarce had enough time to practice. My audition is tomorrow afterschool and I hardly felt that I could do anything to impress Mr.Isadore. He already does not favor me particularly and I felt that the song I was to play for him would not do me any favors. After practicing, the familiar feeling of "I am going to fail" rang through my head and made itself comfortable. As soon as first period (orchestra) was over, I was ready for the day to end. The feeling of failure was never something I was fond of. Things did not look up for me as I entered Mrs. McMahon's classroom, my second period. After she said,"Let's talk about those Amazing Race projects.", we the class sensed doom upon us and braced ourselves for the attack. "I graded 25 projects." she informed us with an unreadable expression. Each project included about 2 to 4 people, since the ...

This morning I awoke pleasantly from my warm, comfy bed to discover that I had been bitten. Bitten by some six legged character, or some winged, thousand-eyed insect. (ant or mosquito) And to my horror, I notice, not only was I bit once, I was bitten twice! And upon further investigation, I spot a THIRD bite on my arm. If glares could make those dirty little red bites go away, they'd have been long gone. And after glaring at them for a while, I felt a powerful urge to scratch them. Many long and painful years have taught me never to scratch a mosquito bite- it leaves scars. Fighting the overwhelming power, I miraculously got out of bed to prepare myself for another day of school. Half asleep and half wishing my bites didn't itch, I messily slap clothes on and tried to present myself nicely. Glancing in the mirror after brushing my teeth, I grabbed my backpack and stumbled down the stairs tripping and making loud "thumps" along the journey. Upon my arrival downstairs, ...

Today was the day of our algebra quiz. It was remotely easy, until I reached the last two problems. "huh?" I thought to myself. "This makes no sense whatsoever.. this number subtracted by this number can't possibly equal to this number!" A little aggravated, I decided to redo the whole problem- only to come out with the same result, no answer. And so, I decided to do some more possible tries, my handwriting growing steadily darker and accented as the grip on my pencil tighted. "Was it possible that the teacher made a mistake?" Nooo... if I asked her that this problem was 'unsolveable' she would classify me into one of students that fail to pay attention! I couldn't allow that to happen- though it probably already has... ^_^ Finding that any more work was useless after more hard core scribbling, I decided to just... guess. It was quite obvious that if there was a possible answer to these two equations, then I wasn't paying attention in c...

This evening, I went to WHCC for my uncle's concert. He conducted a choir which contained of middle aged (and elderly) men and women. To attain extra hours for high school credit, I had "volunteered" to be the flower girl! The flower girl's duty is to present a bouquet of flowers to those who are acknowledged for a job well done and should be recognized for their hard work and dedication. Dressed in a pink outfit, I sat right in the middle of my father and mother, my mother claiming the aisle seat. If only the choir had sang in english, I'm certain it would have captured my attention, but it hadn't, and it left me bored. Very bored. I picked up the red ticket that you had to have to get in and began to tear it into little, tiny pieces. To sucessfully tear a sheet of paper, you must first fold it, and crease it numerous times to get the deisired straight line when you tear them apart. Yes. And I had fun tearing the ticket apart. Every so often, I would often gl...
